YOUR INFORMATION · YOUR CHOICES

A little clarity.
A lot of care.

How Apsara Book Stall handles your information when you shop, save favourites or ask for help.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Apsara Book Stall operates this books and stationery store at apsarabookstall.in. Our store is in Radham Bazar Bapatla 522101. This policy covers our customer website, account, shopping, support and any Apsara AI or delivery features made available through it. Staff access and driver information used to fulfil customer orders are covered where described below.

This notice explains processing; it does not make optional marketing, AI uploads or device permissions a condition of browsing. Features described as optional apply when they are available and used.

2. Information we collect

  • Account: your name, username, email, password hash and account preferences. Password reset requests also use security tokens. Do not send your password to staff.
  • Orders and delivery: products, quantities, prices, discounts, billing and delivery address, PIN code, phone number, recipient details, delivery instructions, order status and payment or refund references.
  • Shopping preferences: bag contents, saved products, selected PIN code, sound preference and rewards balance, earning, redemption, adjustment and expiry records.
  • Support and reviews: messages you send, contact details, optional attachments, ratings and review text. Public reviews may display your chosen name; do not put personal contact details in a review.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser/device details, request timestamps, session identifiers and errors generated while serving and protecting the website. Hosting and security services may process access and abuse logs.
  • Optional feature data: questions and photos submitted to Apsara AI, notification subscriptions, and location information where you or an assigned driver use a location feature.

Only provide another person’s delivery details if you are authorised to do so. Avoid including children’s details, identity documents, private messages or unrelated information in product lists, photos and instructions.

3. Why we use it

We use information to sign you in, maintain your bag and wishlist, check the delivery area, fulfil and track orders, confirm payments, handle cancellations and refunds, calculate rewards, answer questions and manage customer requests. We also use necessary records to investigate errors and abuse, reconcile transactions, maintain accounts and meet applicable legal obligations.

Optional communications and features follow their own choices or permissions where required. Swiping to log in or register submits the same account form as the tap button; it does not grant extra access to your phone.

4. Payments

Payment methods available at checkout are provided by the store and its selected payment services. Those services process the payment details they request. We receive information needed to confirm, reconcile or refund an order, such as transaction reference, amount, method and status. Bank or UPI transfer details you include in payment confirmation may become part of the order record.

Do not enter card PINs, UPI PINs, OTPs or banking passwords into support messages, reviews or Apsara AI. Payment providers have their own privacy notices and security processes.

5. Cookies and browser storage

WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies and sessions for login, bag contents and checkout. Apsara uses browser storage for guest favourites, selected location and sound preferences. Signed-in wishlists are saved to your account; guest favourites may be merged into that account when you sign in.

You can clear site data or block cookies in your browser. Doing so can sign you out or remove guest favourites and preferences. Removing browser data does not delete order or account records stored by the shop. If you share a device, sign out when finished.

Fonts, embedded content and services enabled on the site may receive technical connection information. Any optional analytics or advertising tools need a separate choice where applicable; this policy is not blanket consent to those tools.

6. Apsara AI, photos and voice

Apsara AI can help with books, stationery and product lists. When you choose an AI or photo-reading feature, the question, relevant conversation context, typed list or selected image may be sent through the store’s server to the provider configured for that feature. The available integration may use Google Gemini or OpenAI for answers and OCR.space for text extraction. A staff member may also send a product name and product photo for an editable description.

The feature’s notice identifies its external processing. Crop images to the items you want read and remove names, phone numbers, addresses and unrelated screen content first. You can use normal product search instead of sending a photo. Review extracted quantities, product matches and AI suggestions before ordering.

External providers have their own processing, retention and, depending on the service plan, model-improvement terms. Do not assume that a chat or uploaded image is immediately deleted by a provider. Local browser voice may use the device’s speech service; a separately enabled cloud voice or microphone feature is subject to its notice and device permission.

Provider information: Google Gemini terms, OpenAI privacy policy and OCR.space privacy policy. These describe external services, not a guarantee about which services are active on this store.

7. Delivery, maps, WhatsApp and notifications

Staff and an assigned delivery driver may receive the order, recipient contact details, delivery address and instructions needed for their work. Where live delivery tracking is enabled, the assigned driver’s reported location may be shown to the authorised customer for that order. A map or navigation provider can receive the location or address needed to display a route. Keep tracking links private.

Selecting a PIN code does not itself grant GPS access. Device location and push notifications require the relevant browser or app permission. You can change these permissions in your device settings. This policy does not authorise continuous background tracking.

If you choose WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business, a message draft may contain order details or a tracking link. Review the message before sending it. Once sent, WhatsApp/Meta and the recipient process it under their own terms. Service notifications and order messages are separate from optional promotional messages.

8. Who receives information

Recipients can include authorised store staff, assigned delivery workers, payment providers, hosting and backup providers, and the AI, messaging, map, email or security services used for the feature you request. Our website uses WordPress and WooCommerce software; hosting infrastructure stores the site’s records. A software brand being listed does not mean it receives every customer record.

We share information needed for the relevant task and may disclose records to professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations, disputes or fraud investigations. Ask the privacy contact for the providers relevant to your request. We do not use this policy as permission to sell your personal information or publish private order details.

9. Storage location and security

Website records are held in the store’s hosting environment and backups. Some external services can process data outside India. The destination and safeguards depend on the provider, service plan and configuration used.

The store uses account authentication and staff permissions to control access. Protect your password, use a trusted device and tell us if you suspect unauthorised activity. No online service can promise absolute security. Where an incident affects personal information, we will assess it and take the steps and notifications required by applicable law.

10. How long records stay

Account details and saved favourites are kept while the account is used, unless you request deletion. Order, payment-reference, invoice and rewards records may need to be kept after an account is closed for accounting, tax, refunds, fraud prevention or legal claims. Browser storage stays until it expires or you clear it. Hosting logs, backups and external service records have separate retention periods. Contact us for the period that applies to a particular record.

Deleting an account does not automatically erase records that must be retained for a continuing legal or transaction purpose. Backup copies can remain until their normal expiry. Ask us which records can be erased and which must be kept for your request.

11. Access, corrections, deletion and your choices

You can edit available account details in My Account, remove saved products, change browser storage and device permissions, and choose whether to use optional features. Contact us to request access to your information, corrections, account closure, deletion, withdrawal of consent for optional processing, or help with a privacy concern.

We may need to verify that you are the account holder or authorised requester. Start with your account email and the relevant order reference; do not send passwords, payment PINs or identity documents unless a proportionate verification process is explained to you. We will respond according to the law applicable to the request and explain any limits, such as records required for taxes or an unresolved order. Withdrawing information necessary for delivery or payment can prevent that service from being completed.

12. Children and family shopping

Books and stationery may be purchased for children. A parent or guardian should manage the account and provide the details necessary to place and receive an order. Children should not upload their own personal information, school IDs or private photos to AI or review features. Contact us if a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission so we can investigate and take suitable action.

13. Changes and external links

We update this page when our practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Where a new purpose or permission requires a separate notice or choice, updating this page alone does not replace that requirement. External websites and apps are governed by their own notices.
